Who I am.
Good afternoon, my name is Daevin Garcia. I’d like to share about the Garcia Guarantee. I guarantee that I will bring hard work, persistence, and coachability to your company.
Last summer, I worked as a Sheet Metal Roofer and increased roof repairing productivity by 20%. In order to achieve this gain in productivity I had to work harder and smarter than I did the day before. I learned more efficient techniques and passed them onto my colleagues, whether that meant staying 2 or 3 hours after work or showing up early in the morning. Ultimately, it resulted in in our team being able accomplish roof repairs in four days when it previously required five (days).
My second characteristic is persistence. During the summers in San Antonio, temperatures reach an average 95 degrees. In this climate, the top of a sheet metal roof can reach temperatures upward of 120 degrees. Though I knew how unpleasant work would be, I never missed a day.
My third characteristic is my coachability, over the past 2 years I have been involved with Baylor’s Professional Selling program, in that year I’ve made a big transition in my individual professionalism. Shelby Smith, Owens Corning’s HR Director, commented on the developmental growth I’ve made toward becoming a business professional. She commented on my ability to learn and improve from the coaching and feedback of others.
